CLOTHING & THE BODY: A MUTUAL SHAPING

MY APPROACH TO DESIGN RESEARCH

As a fashion designer I approach clothes as our most immediate environment. They are the most intimate artefacts that touch our skin. Everyday our moving bodies are shaping and being shaped by what we wear through a dynamic reciprocal dialogue that is tactile, sonic, and kinaesthetic. The sensations that unfold during this dialogue influence how we feel physically, emotionally, and socially, whether we are conscious of it or not.
